Patient Care Philosophy

Compassionate and calm, Dr. Keith Wells makes it a point to give his patients 100 percent of his attention during each visit, believing the most effective treatment plan encompasses both cancer-specific therapy and care that addresses the whole person.

“Getting to know my patients is paramount. Knowledge of their disease is critical, but truly knowing what drives and motivates them allows for compassionate and respectful care that is tailored to their needs and desires.”

Possessing a deep understanding of the intricate cellular pathways of cancer and blood disorders, which are technical and intellectually demanding, Dr. Wells is attuned to the newest advances in oncology research. His goal is to provide his patients with the most effective treatment for their specific disease type.

“I want my patients to know that when they come to the clinic, everyone is here to support them, and we will do all that we can to achieve the best possible outcome.”

Dr. Wells dedicaton to his patients, commitment to staying abreast of the latest evidence-based medicine, and clear communication style led to him being selected as Willamette Valley Cancer Institute's Medial Director as of January 1, 2024.

Personal Information

An avid runner, hiker and scout leader, Dr. Wells enjoys being outdoors with his family. He spends most of his free time with his four young daughters, playing, making music and reading books. He is currently learning to play guitar and cello.
