Optimistic and empathetic, Dr. James Butrynski believes in empowering patients through education and taking the time to explain all viable treatment options—from standard, evidence-based approaches to clinical trials—to achieve the best possible outcome.
“The journey through cancer may be marked with both joy and setbacks, but ultimately, my goal is to see that every patient receives the highest level of care delivered in a positive, caring environment.”
Before relocating to Oregon, Dr. Butrynski was named one of U.S. News and World Report’s “Top Doctors” in Medical Oncology for two years running, and Seattle Metropolitan Magazine’s “Top Doctor” for three consecutive years. He is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research.
“I feel blessed to be part of this oncology practice and a community where excellent multidisciplinary care is tailored to the needs and goals of each patient.”
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Butrynski takes every opportunity to soak up the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. He and his wife spend time volunteering, bicycling, growing food and cooking plant-based cuisine, and walking and hiking with their rescue dog, Chloe.
