Shalea is responsible for the development and oversight of WVCI’s compliance program, helping to ensure that all our clinics comply with federal and state laws that are relevant to healthcare. As part of her compliance oversight, she is also actively working to create a culture that ensures patient privacy.
With over 13 years of healthcare experience, Shalea stays motivated to keep up with the ever-changing rules and regulations in the industry as her way to contribute to the high-quality oncology services WVCI provides. Passionate about her work, she admits to being drawn to WVCI because of our reputation in the local community, the compassion of our staff, and dedication to our patients.
Approachable and collaborative, Shalea’s role requires that she works closely with many departments to ensure patient confidentiality is respected, protected, and enforced. Through risk assessments, policy creation, and procedural training, she’s working behind the scenes to ensure the patient-physician relationship remains strictly confidential.
When she’s not in meetings, reading the latest change in government policy, or responding to employee questions, she’s most likely enjoying time off with her husband - traveling, skiing, jogging, or strolling along behind their new addition and adjusting to their role as parents.
