As the Clinical Research Manager, Jeanne works with our physicians and US Oncology to help maintain a balanced portfolio of studies and establish processes for carrying out the strict protocols required for ensuring the accuracy of clinical trials. In addition, she also trains, oversees, and makes sure the research staff has all the resources they need to perform exceptional patient care.
“I feel it’s a privilege to help a patient and family during probably the hardest thing they will ever face. I think WVCI has amazing, dedicated doctors and I am so impressed what we can offer patients without them needing to travel to the bigger cities!”
A passionate team player with over 20 years of experience, Jeanne sees herself as an advocate for patients and mentor to her younger colleagues. She has had a special interest in oncology ever since graduating from nursing school and a strong desire to be part of improving treatments and outcomes for cancer patients.
“…when I first moved here, I did not know WVCI existed. I had moved to Eugene for a different job (home health infusion nurse). I got lost one day and found myself passing the Cancer Center. I happened to be presentable and have a copy of my resume with me, so I went in and dropped it off. The rest is (23 years) history!”
When Jeanne isn’t immersed in research, she can be found outside biking, hiking, snowshoeing, and even doing yard work. She also enjoys traveling with her 14-year-old son (he loves road trips).
