Clinical Research Overview

Cancer research is no longer the exclusive domain of large research universities. Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center (WVCI) is part of the largest private cancer research program in the country. Through our partnership with US Oncology, WVCI is able to offer access to a wide variety of investigational drugs through clinical trials. We are proud to offer clinical trials today that determine how cancer will be treated tomorrow.

Participation in clinical trials is optional and not all patients who desire to take part in a research study will qualify. Patients participating in research studies may benefit from the increased treatment options, access to exciting new therapies and the close personal attention received during a clinical trial.

Several of our physicians serve on US Oncology research committees to develop new protocols and determine the future studies for our network. Research conducted by WVCI physicians and US Oncology have been recognized in plenary session presentations at the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and the American Association for Cancer Research. Through these relationships, WVCI is able to offer unparalleled access to the latest breakthroughs in cancer therapy.
